FAQ

What do I have to do to participate in the show?

To participate, you must bring in your artwork to the Icebox Project Space gallery during the designated drop-off times. The drop-off times are: Friday June 26th 12-6pm, Saturday June 27th 12-6pm, Sunday June 28th 12-4pm, Monday June 29th 12-9pm andTuesday June 30: 12-9pm

If you would like to expedite the drop-off process, you can complete the Artist Form and bring a printed copy with you when you arrive with your work. There will also be an artist contract for you to sign upon arrival. There is a suggested donation of $7 to submit one artwork.

What if I can’t afford the suggested donation amount?

That is okay! You do not need to pay the suggested donation amount unless you are submitting multiple pieces.

How do I submit more than one artwork?

We are asking that for each additional piece, the artist doubles the suggested donation amount. For example, if you would like to submit 2 pieces, the fee goes up to $14 and is no longer a suggested amount. For 3 pieces, the fee becomes $28; 4 = $56, 5 = $112, 6 = $224.

This system allows us to limit the oversaturation of one artist and supports the production of the show!

What if I can't bring my artwork in person?

If you are based in Philadelphia and can't deliver your work in person, we recommend having a trusted person bring in the work for you. If that is not an option, you can mail in your work to: 1400 N American St, Philadelphia PA 19122, Attn: Icebox Project Space.

If you are mailing your piece, please also download and fill out the following forms:

Is there a size limit? What if my piece is too big/small?

We leave it up to the artist to determine the appropriate scale of the submitted artwork. Keep in mind that smaller works may be more difficult to see and extremely large works (such as a 10’ x 20’ painting) may require an installation process that is beyond the capabilities of our team.

If you are unsure, you may also bring multiplepieces to the gallery and make a decision then on which you would like to submit.

Are there any restrictions on what I can bring?

Although we are not outlining specific restrictions, we ask that all participants keep in mind that this is a GROUP show, not a solo exhibition. Our team will be responsible for installing the artwork, so pieces that require intricate set up are not recommended. We maintain the right to reject work that is hazardous in material or in content.

How do I submit a video and how will it be exhibited?
(Philadelphia based artist only)

Video submissions under 6min should be sent through email (iceboxprojects@gmail.com) or WeTransfer with a headline "Now, One With Everyone! Video Submission".  Please include your name, title, and year of the video.  The $7 donation can be made through Venmo @icebox-project-space or cashApp $iceboxprojectspace.

File format: H2.64 Quicktime (mov.) 1080p.  Our media players can NOT play ProRes or 4K files.

Deadline for Video submissions is June 30th at midnight and no late submissions will be accepted after the deadline.

Videos will grouped together and shown on several large TVs within the exhibition.  Listening will be done through headphones.

Can I sell my artwork during the exhibition?

Absolutely! We will be providing an artist contract that details the process but in short, artists may sell their work during the exhibition with a 25% commission fee going towards Icebox Project Space. If you are interested in purchasing work, please contact Icebox Project Space.

I have a piece but I do not know how it should be installed. What do I do?

Unless you are working with a complicated material, we can probably figure out how to install the work. That said, as best as you can, please prepare your work for install. This may include providing magnets, attaching wire to the back of a painting, putting a frame around a delicate drawing, providing a stand for a small sculpture, etc. If you are not sure what will work, bring multiple options.

Will I be able to install my piece myself?

No. In an effort to streamline the process, our team will be responsible for the installation of all works. If you have a piece that requires personal installation, it is likely not the best fit for this exhibition.

When are the open gallery hours?

Thursday: 12-9pm
Friday: 12-6pm
Saturday 12-6pm
Sunday 12-4pm

How do I pick up my work after the exhibition?

All artworks MUST be picked up between August 14th - August 19th, 12-6pm.

When you drop off your work we will ask that you select a date and time that you will pick up your piece. If you are unavailable, we ask that you have a trusted person pick up your work for you. You must email us if this is the case. All work that is left after the pick up dates is not guaranteed to be stored long-term in our space.
